Description
This black and white illustration is of Robert C. Schenck, Union Army general in the American Civil War and served two separate multi-term stints in the U.S. House of Representatives. Schenck is depicted in a dark suit and with collar. The engraver is identified along the bottom edge of the illustration. Schenck's signature is depicted below the illustration and his name and "representative from Ohio" is captioned below the signature. This illustration is from volume seven, of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
