This black and white illustration depicts Abraham Lincoln seated at a desk with a closed book in his hands. A marble bust is depicted on one side of him and the desk on the other with fabric and walls depicted behind him. Lincoln's signature is depicted beneath the illustration with "Likeness from a recent Photograph from life" captioned below. The illustration is in volume eight of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
