Description

This black and white illustration is of General Richard H. Anderson, served as a Confederate general during the American Civil War, fighting in the Eastern Theater of the conflict and most notably during the 1864 Battle of Spotsylvania Court House. Anderson is depicted in a dark, double-breasted military uniform with a high collar. Anderson's name is captioned beneath the illustration. The illustration is from volume eight of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
