This black and white illustration is of Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln is depicted seated beside a cloth covered table stacked with books and papers and has a bust of George Washington near the back. Curtains are depicted behind the table. Lincoln is depicted wearing a dark suit, vest and tie with a white shirt and holding a sheaf of papers. The illustration is from volume nine, in pages 470-471 of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
