This black and white illustration is of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States from 1861 until his assassination in 1865. Lincoln is depicted as wearing a dark suit, vest, and tie with a white shirt. His name is captioned beneath the illustration and the illustration is identified as having been made from a photograph taken on March 6, 1865. The illustration is from volume nine of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
