This handwritten letter, dated February 14, is from George A. McCall to Jefferson Davis as an introduction and endorsement of Mr. Falkner M. Murtrie who is an applicant for a naval post. The back of the letter includes Davis's endorsement of Murtrie addressed to Hon. Mr. Dobbin, dated February 19, 1855.
