Description
This handwritten letter, dated December 24, 1914 , is written from Jess W. Weik to Willis Van Devanter notifying Van Devanter that he is including more papers from the VanDevanter Case in which Lincoln figured in McLean County, Illinois. Weik says that he found the papers while cleaning out Lincoln and Herndon's law office in Springfield in the "early eighty's." Weik goes on to give his opinion of what the Van Devanter in the case was like. See also: Document, State v.
