This statement of Abstract states that Assistant Surgeon, R. L. Simpson was employed for five days a Judge Advocate in the duty of the General Court Martial and was to be paid six dollars and twenty-five cents. The statement was received at Ford Adams, Rhode Island on August 31, 1859 by Henry W. Clossom, 1st Artillery Account Assistant for the U. S. Army and was marked paid in full.
