Description

This document, dated July 1, 1859, attests to the fact that Sergeant James Belger of Light Company J, 1st Artillery, U. S., incurred expenses while in pursuit of a deserter in pursuance of orders given to him. The expenses accrued amount to three dollars and eighty-seven cents. The affidavit was filed in Newport County, Rhode Island and sworn and subscribed by the Newport mayor, William H. Cranston.
