The poster is a promotional item advertising The Lincoln Symposium, an event sponsored by the Abraham Lincoln Library & Museum of Lincoln Memorial University. The primary image featured on the poster is a bust portrait of Abraham Lincoln that is surrounded by a floral wreath. At its top, an eagle and an American flag are pictured. An image of possibly Columbia is featured at the portrait's left. Beneath the portrait, a banner bearing Lincoln's name appears. In the background, faded images of places with associations to Lincoln are shown (e.g., United States Capitol, Lincoln Home National Historic Site, and the Lincoln Tomb).
