This portrait is surrounded by oval portraits of Union statesmen and military leaders (clockwise from top): General Scott, H. Hamlin, S. Cameron, G. Welles, M. Blair, General Butler, General Anderson, Colonel Ellsworth, C.B. Smith, E. Bates, S.P. Chase, and W.H. Seward.
