Description
The object includes a book illustration and accompanying text that have been removed from an unknown book (possibly a 19th century book). The illustration is an engraved portrait of Thomas Alexander Scott, appointed in 1861 by President Abraham Lincoln as the U.S. Assistant Secretary of War during the American Civil War, and the text is a short biography of his life and career. Both are printed on white paper and black ink.
