Abraham Lincoln, 1869 Reproduction Print
Files
Creator Role
painter
Description
The print is a reproduction of George P. A. Healy's Abraham Lincoln, an oil painting completed in 1887. The portrait features Lincoln seated in a chair with his proper right hand cupping his chin. This particular manifestation also includes two four cent Lincoln stamps at the bottom right corner of the image. A postmark has also been layered over the print and stamps. Due to water damage, the print has adhered to the frame's glass panel. The print was enclosed in a brown wooden frame (poor condition) but was removed for preservation. The glass-covered print has been backed with acid-free card stock and foam board and sealed with pH-neutral tape along the edges for additional support.
