Description

The rectangular ornament features a reproduction of Nicholas H. Shepards' daguerreotype of Abraham Lincoln, the first authenticated image of Lincoln. Is is surrounded by an antique gold metal and features a red silk ribbon for hanging. The ornament was found inside of a Surratt Society envelope with a similar ornament featuring Mary Todd Lincoln.
