The rectangular patch is a Boy Scouts of America Detroit Area Council commemorative item for its 1973 Lincoln Pilgrimage. The patch features hues of black, brown, yellow, and blue. At its center, an embroidered bust portrait of Abraham Lincoln appears. Surrounding the portrait are images related to Lincoln, which include: Lincoln's boyhood home, a standing silhouette of Lincoln, Lincoln possibly navigating a flatboat, and Lincoln splitting rails.
