Description

1- You and I were among seven members of Congress who went to the White house last year to talk to President Clinton about the Defense spending. In his budget proposal in January, there was a $11 billion increase over five years. That was a positive step. Do you think our visit had any effect on this?; 2- We did get a small increase in the budget, but already some of our colleagues in the House have tried to cut defense, We were able to hold off an amendment by congressman Frank to take away $2.4 billion from defense, Were you surprised by our margin of victory?
