Biography
Madame MacMahon aided her husband, Marshal MacMahon receive the Grants. They entertained General and Mrs. Grant with banquets and various activities during their stay. This attention and accommodation impressed and pleased the Grants who were made to feel more like traveling dignitaries than private citizens.
