The State of Mississippi, Lowndes County, charged Hanes Holman with persuading a slave to run away from her master in 1864. Specifically, Holman is charged with unlawfully, feloniously, and willfully persuade an enslaved woman Victoria, the property of J. A. Harvey, to run away from her master.
