Bill of sale for Betsy, about twenty-five years old, and adolescent children Polly, Mary, Caroline, Aggy, and John, sold by professional slave traders Richardson & Franklin, who operated at the Forks of the Road slave market, to Samuel Davis, planter.

PAGE ONE $2850—Doll Natchez May 13th 1835 Recd. Of Samuel Davis the sum of Two thousand Eight hundred fifty dollars in full for siz negroes to wit. Betsy a woman aged 22 to 25 yrs, Polly, a woman aged 11 yrs., Mary a girl aged 14 yrs. Caroline a girl aged 14 yrs Aggy a girl aged 12 yrs John a boy aged 18 yrs the rights & title to said slaves we warrant & defend free from the claims of all persons whatsoever & likewise warrant said negroes sound in body & mind & slaves for life.
