Description

This handwritten V-Mail (Victory Mail) letter, dated January 26, 1943, is written by Major Rollin S. Armstrong where he is stationed in Africa, to his wife, Rebecca Armstrong, in Tupelo, Mississippi. The letter describes the hospital where he is recuperating and discusses the recent U. S. invasion south of Rome. He describes the invasion as having "caught the German's napping." The letter is written on V-Mail stationary with a censor stamp in the upper left.
