Description

This handwritten V-Mail (Victory Mail) letter, dated August 31, 1943, is written by Major Rollin S. Armstrong from the open sea, to his wife, Rebecca Armstrong, in Tupelo, Mississippi. The letter describes his voyage on a ship to his destination overseas for deployment, including the state of the ship, the weather, and how he's getting along. The envelope is postmarked New York, New York, September 13, 1943.
