Description
This handwritten letter, dated September 10, 1943, is written by Rollin S. Armstrong from where he is stationed in North Africa, to his wife, Rebecca Armstrong, in Tupelo, Mississippi. The letter discusses who he has seen while stationed in North Africa and asks after his family. He goes on to describe his surroundings in North Africa and his opinion on the local population. The letter is written on U. S. O. (United Services Organization) stationary with the U. S. O. logo in the upper left corner. The envelope is postmarked U. S. Army A. P. O., September 10, 1943 and bears a red air mail postage stamp on the right edge with a second postmark stamped over it.
