Description

This handwritten letter, dated November 13, 1943, is written by Rollin S. Armstrong from where he is stationed in Italy, to his wife, Rebecca Armstrong, in Tupelo, Mississippi. The letter describes the trip overseas from North Africa to Italy and how he fared in comparison to others. The letter goes on to ask after their newborn son. The letter is written on United States Army stationary with the eagle and shield logo in the top center of the page. The envelope is postmarked U. S. Army Postal Service, November 17, 1943. "Passed by Army Base 2158 Examiner" is ink stamped in the lower left corner.
