Description

This handwritten letter, dated July 11, 1943, is written by Rollin S. Armstrong at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma where he is stationed, to his wife, Rebecca Armstrong, in Tupelo, Mississippi. The letter discusses his interactions with their friends there and advises her on some health matters during her pregnancy. The letter goes on to warn her that his unit may be called up to go overseas as his unit has been "raised on the priority list" and he gives her instructions on how to handle their personal affairs in the event he is called up. The letter is written on The Mayo Hotel, Tulsa, Oklahoma stationary. The envelope is postmarked Camp Gruber, Oklahoma, July 11, 1943.
