Description
The newsletter, "On the Beam" volume 26, written by Howard Coleman, is a private newsletter written to update Coleman's friends and family. Dated February 20, 1945, this issue of the newsletter discusses Coleman's agreement to head up the local Red Cross drive and what the Red Cross does. The newsletter goes on to describe who and what Coleman has seen around town, he newsletter goes on to describe the cards and letter Coleman has received from various servicemen around the world and the news contained in them. Other items shared are sports updates, updates from the local paper, and what he's seen around town. The news he shares is taken from letters he's received, news broadcasts, newspapers, and his interactions with people he speaks to around town. The newsletter ends with a prayer.
