Description

This United States Internal Revenue receipt, dated September 17, 1866, documents the thirteen dollar and seventy-two cent payment made by John P. Darden for succession tax. The payment was made in Fayette, Mississippi to the collector's office, first district in the state of Mississippi. The taxes collected are for the year ending in April 30, 1866. The receipt is numbered 123 and is signed by Ely R. Jones, Deputy Collector.
