Description

This state, county, and teacher's fund tax receipt, dated January 10, 1876, documents the one hundred and ten dollar and forty-seven cent payment made by Thomas L. Darden to Jefferson County, Mississippi for fiscal year 1875. The receipt is signed by M. Howard, the sheriff and C. W. Whitney, the Jefferson County tax collector. The receipt includes and itemized list of the property that was taxed, including 787 acres of land and the list of personal and real tax.
