Description
This handwritten letter, dated November 3, 1857, is written from John P. Darden to Sarah M. Showers in Fayette, Mississippi to ask her opinion on a letter that written to Mary explaining his fear that his previous response to her may have sounded harsh and why he fears it could be interpreted that way. He has included a copy of the letter to Mary with his letter to Sarah and explains that he "would be glad for her to read it for I wish to do nothing that will offend anyone..." The third page has a small portion torn from the right edge.
