    "Envelope, Ross Wade, Esq., Port Gibson, Mississippi" is written across the front of this tattered envelope. "Jackson, Miss" with 16 written beneath it is visible in the upper right corner, under a fold and some calculations are written sideways in pencil near the right edge of the envelope. A faded red postmark is in the upper left corner.
