    Description

    This promissory note, dated May 2, 1846 states that Isaac R. Wade promises to repay two $2772.24 to James Brown through the Bank of Louisiana with eight percent interest by March 1, 1849. "Paid by sale of Wade land January 1, 1849" is written sideways across the original note and Wade's name is marked out at the bottom of the note. "4 March 1850" is written in red in the upper left corner.
