Description

This postcard features a sepia toned image of the New State Capitol Building in Jackson, Mississippi, a large, three story structure with tall columns across the front entrance and at the ends and sides of the building. A tall dome with an eagle at the top rises from the center of the building. The title of the card is printed in the bottom edge of the image and "Jackson, Miss" is printed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written on the upper right part of the card above the image that reads "Sorry I did not meet you hope to do so in May. Lieut R. S. Miller c/o Treasurers Office State Capitol, Jackson Miss." The back of the card is addressed to Miss May Pickering in Collins, Mississippi. The card is postmarked Jackson, Miss., April 3, 1906 and Collins, Miss., April 9. A green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner.
