Description

This postcard features a black and white image of The Robert O. Wilder Building, Building, commonly known as “the Mansion” on the campus of historic Tougaloo College. The building is two stories with a second floor balcony and arched porch columns. A short tower is in the center of the roof. Trees are in the foreground of the image. The title of the card is printed along the bottom edge of the card. The back of the card is addressed to Mr. Leon Hitchcock in Windsor, Vermont. Most of the postmark is faded except for the year, 1942. A green, one cent George Washington postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. March 18 Dear L. Thanks for another letter. M. and I are here--in this house with mother and Dad whilte Chuck is in California for a month. Hot sun-flowers (many new ones) and birds--it's wonderful. Betsy [sic]
