Description

This postcard features a color illustration of three buildings in Jackson, Mississippi--the Hinds County Courthouse, the post office and at the Capital National Bank. This image looks north up West Street towards its intersection with Capitol Street. The Hinds County Court House faced West Street. It was built 1901-2. In 1904, Major R. W. Millsaps built the 5-story Capital National Bank Building at the northwest corner of Capitol and North West Streets. The old Federal Building and Post Office, a three story building between the courthouse and bank, predated both. The title of the card is printed in the upper right edge of the image.
