Description

This postcard features a black and white image of the State Insane Asylum in Jackson, Mississippi, a series of buildings, the primary one being a three story building with six columns across the front and a cupola on the roof. The other buildings are smaller with smaller cupolas. A dense line of trees are in front of the buildings, partially obscuring them from view. The title of the card is printed along the bottom of the card with the publisher's name stamped above it in blue ink and an inscription is written below it. The back of the card is addressed to Miss Anna McAlphin in Smedes, Mississippi. The card is postmarked Jackson, Mississippi, August 15, 1906 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner.
