Description

This postcard features a black and white image of the Newton Institute in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, a two story building with a long front port and identical second floor balcony. Lattice railing is on the porch and balcony and tall columns line the front. A group of children and teachers are gathered on the front steps of the building. Trees and bushes are in front of the institute, partially obscuring the view of it. The title of the card is printed in red beneath the bottom left edge of the image and an inscription is written below it. The back of the card is addressed to Mr. Edgar Driver in Monticello, Mississippi. The card is postmarked Crystal Springs, Mississippi, September 28, 1907 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written sideways on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]
