Description

This postcard features a color illustration of the main hotel, lawn, and a well at Brown's Wells Mississippi, a resort near Hazelhurst, Mississippi. The well depicted is to the left with a two story gazebo style structure and the main hotel building to the right is a two story building partially obscured from view by the grove of trees on the hotel lawn. A circular flower bed of yellow flowers is in the center foreground and the title of the card is printed within a banner style text box to the right of it. The back of the card is addressed to Mr. Louis Bell in Pelahatchie, Mississippi and is postmarked Jackson, Mississippi, June 16, 1914. A green, one cent George Washington postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and an inscription is written sideways on the left half of the card. A paragraph printed in the upper left describes Brown's Wells as " the best equipped summer resort South. Known for fifty years as 'the home of health'--In the Pine Hills of Mississippi near Hazelhurst."
