This postcard features a color illustration of sailboats on the open water under a cloudy moonlit sky. The card title along the top reads "A beautiful Moonlight Scene on the Gulf, the Most Peaceful Body of Water on Earth". The bottom of the card reads "Scene on the Gulf of Mexico, Gulfport, Miss. The back of the postcard is addressed to Mrs. F. W. Bock in New Orleans, Louisiana. The card is postmarked Long Beach, Miss., August 22, 1917 and a green, one cent George Washington postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner. A description of the scene is in the upper left corner and an inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]
Long Beach, Aug 22 Dear Cous--Rec'd your cards glad to hear you are all well as this leaves us at present. Thought you were coming over to spend the day. Why not? Hope the children are well kiss them all for us. Best Regards to Fred. Love from all Cous-Annie [sic]
