Description

This postcard features a sepia toned image of Lake Henry, a lake located just 3.4 miles from Itta Bena, in Leflore County. The lake is surrounded by trees. The identity of the lake is handwritten directly beneath the image. A handwritten inscription is written along the white portion of the left, top, and right edges outside the image. The inscription reads "Hello Miss Son! I am safe at home and just burning up and it is awful here and I just so tired all the time and work has begun on my house and when its finished you must come to see us and hope you are well and Best Wishes, Lucile." The back of the postcard is addressed to Miss Donna Robertson in Scobey, Mississippi. the card is postmarked September 10, 1906 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is in the upper right corner of the card.
