Description

This postcard features a color image of the administration building of the Glenwild Plantation, located five miles south of Grenada, Mississippi on the Illinois Central railroad system. The building is influenced in Spanish style architecture with a bell over the large, arched opening on the left end. A long front porch with white railings is in the center of the building and a two story addition is on the right end. A crowd of people are gathered on the porch and in front of the building. The title of the card is printed along the bottom edge of the card. The card is promotional material for the Illinois Central System and includes the following text in the lower left on the back of the card: "Three fast-time, on-time daily trains between Chicago-St. Louis and New Orleans, via Grenada, Miss."
