This color postcard features a dirt street with at least two visible churches, one at the forefront of the image and the other in the distance further down the street. The church in the forefront has a tall tower at the front entrance and shorter, rounded tower beside it. A house is pictures to the right of the prominent church. A circular tower is in the center of the roofline. Wooden planks placed over the ditches to get one from the sidewalk to the dirt road are visible in front of the buildings. The title in the upper left reads "Church Street, Forest, Miss." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides indication for correspondence and address placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right and the postcard is postmarked Forest, Mississippi, August 22, 1917. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Miss Maude Parker in Birds, Illinois.
Dear Sis: Arrived Forest Sunday night and surprised them all. Will return to Kosciusko Sunday. Your brother, Lloyd [sic]
