Description

This postcard features a color illustration of a federal building in Oxford, Mississippi, a two story building with arched molding above the second story window on the left, a large arched window on second story on the right, an arched entrance, dental molding across the front, and a flag flying from the roof. Horse drawn wagons loaded with bales of cotton are on the street in front of the building. The title of the card is printed in red in the upper left of the image. The back of the card is addressed to Mrs. I Sharpsteen in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The card is postmarked Oxford, Miss., March 6, 1912 and a green, one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written upside down on the left half of the card. Mar. 5th 1912. Dear Mother:- Your letter received O.K. will try and write a letter in a few days. Been rainy here for a couple days but not cold, and things are beginning to get green. Yours Jack [sic]
