Description

This postcard is a color illustration of the Okolona sign seen on the side of the road while entering the town of Okolona, Mississippi. The sign is bright yellow with dark lettering that reads "Okolona "THE LITTLE CITY THAT DOES BIG THINGS". Fences, trees, grassy, and a cemetery headstones can be seen behind the sign. The text printed on the upper left of the back of the card reads "Okolona, Miss. On U. S. Hwy. 45W Okolona's slogan comes from the fact that it has progressed from what Lowell Thomas in the early 30's called the "hardest hit town in the nation" to a thriving industrial and agricultural community."
