Description

This postcard is a black and white image of a confederate monument "to the patriotism of the Confederate soldiers of LaFayette County" referred to as the Monument of the "Old Boys in Gray", Oxford, Mississippi, a pilar shaped monument with a confederate soldier at rest on the top and a furled flag on the column. The monument is located on the Court Square in front of the Lafayette County courthouse in Oxford, Mississippi. Trees and the a small portion of the courthouse are seen behind the monument and what looks like trash is pictured at the base of the monument. The title of the card is printed to the left of the monument and "Old" is misspelled as "Olb".
