Description
This black and white picture postcard features a six story building on a street corner with other buildings partially visible flanking either side. A sign on top of the right side of the roof reads "Hays and Field" and people are walking on the sidewalk and street in front of the building. The title along the bottom of the card reads "Carter Building, Cor. of Main and Front Streets, Hattiesburg, Miss." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information as well as indication for correspondence and address placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked Carnes, Mississippi July 26, 1909. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Mr. Alva Buchanan in Hoffman, Oklahoma.

Dear friend I Received your Pretty card Saturday am sending an ans today hope you will like this one & ans soon. I Received a card in the same Mail that yours was in fro Hoffman Okla but no name signed and I don't know what name to send an answer to Please see if you can find out who sent it and oblige--from your friend as ever T. Teportier ans soon 1909 Jul 26 [sic]
