Description
This black and white photograph features the 1913 Bay Springs girls basketball team laying on their stomachs on the ground in front of a white building. Their feet in the air behind them and the sixth girl from the left is holding a basketball with the number '13 handwritten in white on it. A white label in bottom right of the photograph's matt identifies the girls pictured as the Girls Basketball Team 1913, Annie Yelverton, Angie Massey, Viva Thigpen, Robbie Fail, Virgie Johnston, Pattie Mae Denson, Lou Alice Small, Jessie Lee Hinton, Annie Massey, Trudie Stringer, Cassie Hall, Ruth McFarland, Edith Stringer. "Bay Springs" is handwritten at the bottom of the label. The back of the photograph contains handwritten notations of a name and a year.
