Description

This postcard features a black and white image of a Confederate monument in front of the Jones County Courthouse in Laurel, Mississippi. The monument is a stone statue of a soldier standing on a pedestal atop the roof of eight paired Tuscan columns on pedestals, that enclose a statue of a woman kneeling in grief, all on a stepped base. "Confederate Soldiers" is engraved on the facing of the monument, flanked by the image of crossed swords. The courthouse is to the right of the monument.
