Description
This color picture postcard features the front of a building with ornate carvings and an arch at the entrance. "National Bank of Commerce" is carved into the area above the second story window at the entrance and signs on either side of the door read "National Commerce Bank|Savings Accounts Solicited". The title at the bottom of the card reads "National Bank of Commerce, Main St. Hattiesburg, Miss." An inscription is handwritten beneath the title. The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides photographer information as well as indication for correspondence placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked Hattiesburg, Mississippi April 3, 1908. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Miss Nettie Hood in Jackson Mississippi.
Transcription
[front of the postcard] Jackson can't beat this much. [back of the postcard] Your card came came [sic] days ago and I was dee-lighted to get it. I can't say when I'll make Jackson a visit. I hope sometime this summer anyway. Seems as if summer will never come in earnest though for it is cold here today.
