Description

This black and white picture postcard features an infantry band in uniform lined up in a semi-circle with their instruments. The title along the top reads "'Kentucky' 149th Inf Band, Camp Shelby, Hattiesburg, Miss." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides indication for postage stamp placement. The card is postmarked Jersey City, New Jersey June 10, 1918. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Mrs. Rose Nelson

June 7th, 1918 Dear Grandma--I thought I would just drop you a few lines tonight just to let you know we arrived here all O.K. My new address is [address numbers omitted] Camp Meritt, New Jersey. Will write more later.
