Description

This color postcard features a two story white clapboard building with an exterior green staircase. Several men are lined up outside the building and pine trees are sporadically placed in front of and behind the building.The title in the upper right of the card reads "Classification Building, Camp Shelby, Mississippi.' The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher and artist information as well as indicaiton for postage stamp placement. The description in the upper left corner of the card reads "Camp Shelby, Mississippi Is named for a famed leader of men of Colonial Days, Colonel Isaac Shelby. Created during the World War days, the camp was named in honor of a fighter who earned a niche in history's hall by performing valiantly in the Revoltionary War. Camp Shelby is the second largest training camp. Built to accommodate 55,000 men."
