Description
This black and white picture postcard features infantrymen marching with camp structures behind them. The title along the top of the card reads "'Indiana' Company M, 152nd Infantry, Camp Shelby, Hattiesburg, Miss." The back of the picture postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides indication for address and correspondence placement. A pink two cent postage stamp in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked Hattiesburg, Mississippi, January 27, 1919. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Miss Mande Stelle in Ohio.
Transcription
Jan. 26th 1919 Dear Mande--Received your card this noon. Was out for a walk this morning, took some more pictures. We got back just in time for beans. Didn't get up in time for breakfast yesterday morning so went over to the exchange and bought a few sandwiches. Will write later. Am OK. As ever, Carl.
